Service Types
Shippers can use service types to specify how quicklya shipment has to be delivered. Sterling TMS supports differentservice types based on the transportation mode:
- For truckload shipments you specify a single-driver truck ora team of drivers.
- For parcel shipments you specify a service type that is uniqueto each parcel carrier such as UPS or Federal Express.
- For other modes you specify normal or expedited delivery.
The following table lists the service types for each transportationmode:
- The Service Type column lists the entries you can select for ashipment in the Sterling TMS userinterface.
- The Data Exchange column lists the entries you can specify inthe Service_Type element of an XML shipment.
