The "ppcdrvr" subdirectory under the Windows 2003 driver folder has been removed in the ServeRAID 7.10B Support CD.

Symptom
 
The "ppcdrvr" subdirectory under the Microsoft Windows 2003 driver folder has been removed in the ServeRAID 7.10B Support CD.
 
In earlier releases, there used to be "ppcdrvr" subdirectories under the Windows 2003 driver folder and the Windows 2000/XP driver folder.
 
For ServeRAID 7.10B release, "ppcdrvr" can only be found underthe Windows 2000/XP driver folder. The "ppcdrvr" subdirectorycontains the drivers for the PowerPC-based ServeRAIDcontrollers: 3L, 3H, 3HB and 4H.

  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Datacenter Edition, for 64-Bit Itanium-based Systems
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Web Edition

Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

Solution

Use the driver located in the following directory for the ServeRAID 4H: \windows\win2k_xp\SCSI\ppcdrvr. This device driver is supported for Windows 2000, XP and 2003.

Additional information

The same ServeRAID 4H driver is used for Windows 2000, XP and 2003.
 
Note: Only the ServeRAID 4H controller is supported under Windows 2003.
 
The other controllers that share the same device driver, i.e. the ServeRAID 3L, 3H and 3HB, are not supported under Windows 2003. The referenced file will be available from the Servers - ServeRAID Software Matrix.
