ServeRAID M5014 SAS/SATA Controller, Option part number 46M0916, intermittently fails in rebuilding a Redundant Array of Independent Disks 5 (RAID 5) array. Symptom

This tip is not software specific.
The prior 12.12.0-0047 firmware for the ServeRaid M5014 is affected.
Solution
This issue is fixed beginning in ServeRAID M5014 SAS/SATA controller firmware version 12.12.0-0047 - 12.12.0-0098.

The root cause of this symptom is due to ACK/NAK timeouts while the ServeRAID M5014 SAS/SATA controller is rebuilding a RAID 5 array.
ServeRAID M5014 SAS/SATA controller firmware version 12.12.0-0047 and later fix the symptoms by improving the recovering mechanism.
When the symptoms occur, it is safe to update ServeRAID M5014 SAS/SATA controller firmware while the RAID 5 array in critical state.
