Troubleshooting
Problem
Tivoli Storage Manager server 7.1 installation/upgrade encounters a java.lang.ClassNotFoundException error.
Cause
Corrupted installation package.
Diagnosing The Problem
Click on the installer to install/upgrade the server to version 7.1. Instead of the install wizard, an error message is displayed: "An error has occurred. See the log file <log file>".
Review the log file specified in the error message for an error similar to the following:

Resolving The Problem
Download a new installation package. Extract it and run the installation again.
