Problem

Pop-up error message of "Server Busy! This action cannot be completed because the retrieving mail program is not responding." in IBM Sterling Gentran:Director, version 5.4

Symptom

  • IBM Sterling Gentran:Director, version 5.4
  • Windows 2000 Professional or  Windows XP Professional
  • Using a "Commerce:Exchange" type of communication profile
  • Pop-up error "Server Busy! This action cannot be completed because the retrieving mail program is not responding."
  • One or more COM##### sessions (where # is a number) hang
  • A time delay shows in the communications log until the "Server Busy" error message is replied to
  • The delay in the communications log shows either just prior to connection to the network, or just after disconnecting from the network
