Resolving The Problem



For problems with devices that are connected the serial port or USB port, do the following:

1. Verify that the port is enabled and is assigned a unique address.
2. Verify that each bus is assigned a unique address.
3. Verify that each port is assigned a unique address.
4. Verify that the device is properly installed and firmly seated.
5. Verify that the serial-port adapter, if you installed one, is properly installed and firmly seated.
6. If the failing device is a printer, run the printer self-test.
