Solution

If you see the symptoms appear and the drive tray has been removed, inspect the system board to see if any components (particularly R2057, R2058, C488, and R6465) are missing or damaged. If this damage exists, the board will have to be replaced.
If using 8844-31X, replace with field replacable unit (FRU) part number 43X1814.
If using 8844-51X, replace with FRU part number 43X1813.
If using 8844-41X, replace with FRU part number 43W0375.
Workaround

None.
Additional Information

When removing the SAS drive tray, loosen all four screws before completely removing any of the screws. With the board positioned with the front (bezel) on your left and the rear (midplane connector) on your right, remove the screws in the following order:
- Screw at the top left (nearest the blade edge and blade front).
- Screw at the bottom right (nearest the BladeCenter and blade rear).
- Screw at the top right (nearest the blade edge and blade rear).
- Hold the tray by pressing at the label area as you completely remove screw at the bottom left (nearest the BladeCenter and blade front).
