Sending InterAct messages might fail with when RequestRef SNL exceeds 30 characters

Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

A problem can occur in sending InterAct messages when FTM SWIFT copies information from Business Application Header field "BizMsgIdr" into the SNL parameter "SwInt:RequestRef" and the data exceeds 30 characters.

Content

If MSIF receives a SendMsg request from an application with no element RequestRef but containing a business application header with element BizMsgIdr, MSIF uses the value of BizMsgIdr for the InterAct request reference ("SwInt:RequestRef").
The maximum length of the SNL parameter "SwInt:RequestRef" is 30 characters, so if BizMsgIdr has a value with length longer than 30 characters, then this leads to an error in MSIF.
If you experience a problem in sending messages, contact IBM Support (refer to APAR PH57870).
