Segmentation fault (coredump) during EDI to ADF send map translation

Troubleshooting

Problem

When migrating WDI v3.3 from z/OS to AIX platform, a core dump occurs when performing EDI X12 to Data Format translation using Send/Receive map. The objects are exported from WDI z/OS database and imported into the WDI AIX database using WDIClient.

Resolving The Problem

In this specific scenario it's a EDI X12 to Data Format translation using a Receive map, which is also generating functional acknowledgements. If a core dump occurs please verify items below:

1. Verify the System for WDI v3.3 is set for AIX. From the WDI v3.3 Client click on View > Administration > System. Highlight and double-click the appropriate system. Verify Server Platform value is set to "AIX" and the Data Source Name and Database qualifier values are correct,

2. Any objects being exported from WDI v3.3 z/OS and imported into WDI v3.3 AIX system that can be compiled, i.e. maps (Data Transformation, Send, Receive, FA, Validation) and control strings (Envelope, map), will still have z/OS system control strings. Please recompile these objects using WDI Client with the System pointing to the AIX database.

NOTE: The above scenario is one case in which this problem may occur, if moving from WDI z/OS platform to WDI Multiplatform please verify the necessary objects imported from z/OS are recompiled on the new (AIX) platform. This included recompilation of all Data Transformation maps, Send/Receive maps (including the involved $FUNCACK997 functional acknowledgement Send map) as well as the X Envelope standard.
