Security Capabilities
The following security capabilities are available in the IBM? SterlingTransportation Management System (Sterling TMS):
- If you are a shipper or carrier administrator you can set upthe password policy for your organization's users. For example youcan set up minimum password requirements and expiration policies.
- User passwords are stored in encrypted format on a LightweightDirectory Access Protocol (LDAP) server at the Sterling TMS data center.
To use these capabilities you need to set up the password policyin your shipper or carrier profile. Even if you do not set up a passwordpolicy the passwords are still encrypted on the LDAP server. As aresult users cannot contact Sterling TMS Customer Supportif they forget their password.
