PCRE, which is using in TensorFlow allows an integer overflow via a large number after a (?C substring.

Vulnerability Details

CVEID:   CVE-2020-14155
DESCRIPTION:   PCRE could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the system, caused by an integer overflow in libpcre. By sending a request with a large number, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.

Remediation/Fixes

TensorFlow has been updated to include a newer version of libpcre.

Workarounds and Mitigations

Tensorflow must be updated.

For the GPU enabled version:

  conda update tensorflow-gpu

For the non GPU enabled version:

   conda update tensorflow
