The MD5 "SLOTH" vulnerability on TLS 1.2 affects IBM Notes.
DESCRIPTION: The TLS protocol could allow weaker than expected security caused by a collision attack when using the MD5 hash function for signing a ServerKeyExchange message during a TLS handshake. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability using man-in-the-middle techniques to impersonate a TLS server and obtain credentials.

NOTE: Since this vulnerability involves TLS 1.2, neither IBM Notes 9.0 nor IBM Notes 8.5.x are affected.
The Notes SLOTH vulnerability is tracked as SPR KLYHA5YRVP and a fix is introduced in the following releases:
- IBM Notes 9.0.1 Fixpack 5 IF 2 (for Windows)
- IBM Notes 9.0.1 Fixpack 5 IF 1 (for Linux)
- IBM Notes 64-bit 9.0.1 IF1 (for Mac 64-bit platform)

Customers who remain on the following releases may open a Service Request with IBM Support and reference SPR KLYHA5YRVP for a custom hotfix:
- IBM Notes 9.0.1 Fix Pack 3 IF3 and later
- IBM Notes 9.0.1 Fix Pack 4 and all Interim Fixes
You should verify applying this fix does not cause any compatibility issues. The fix disables MD5 signature hash by default. If you change the default setting after applying the fix, you will expose yourself to the attack described above. IBM recommends that you review your entire environment to identify other areas where you have enabled the MD5 signature hash and take appropriate mitigation and remediation
