Security vulnerability have been disclosed on 24th August 2021 by the OpenSSL Project. OpenSSl is used by IBM Sterling Connect:Express for UNIX. IBM Sterling Connect:Express for UNIX has addressed the applicable CVE.
Vulnerability Details
CVEID: CVE-2021-3711
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a buffer overflow, caused by improper bounds checking by the EVP_PKEY_decrypt() function within implementation of the SM2 decryption. By sending specially crafted SM2 content, a remote attacker could overflow a buffer and execute arbitrary code on the system or cause the application to crash.

Remediation/Fixes
For versions prior 1.5.0.1606 upgrade to 1.5.0.1607 or apply the OpenSSL 1.1.1l Updater for Connect:Express for Unix. Both are available on Fix Central.
