Remediation/Fixes
To patch an existing service instance requires two steps:
1. To update WebSphere Application Server refer to the IBM WebSphere Application Server bulletin listed below:
Security Bulletin: Code execution vulnerability in WebSphere Application Server (CVE-2016-5983).
2. To apply the RHEL OS updates, run yum update.
Alternatively, delete the vulnerable service instance and create a new instance. The new maintenance will be included.
