Troubleshooting
Problem
Using an IBM Host On-Demand web start client, if web express logon has been configured to establish a secure connection (i.e. https), the connection fails with the following error message on the screen.
“javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException:sun.security.validator.ValidatorException:PKIX path building failed:
sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException:unable to find valid certification path to request target"
Use Case for Example:
If a user enters the below URL for Web Express Logon connection,
https://localhost:8443/amcms/CredMapper
a cached client or a download client works correctly. A pop up dialog gets displayed for selecting the right certificate in order to establish a connection. But in case of a web start client, the connection fails.
The below screen shot shows the configuration of secure Web Express Logon in Host On-Demand using deployment wizard.
