Section FAK Freight Classes
You can have Sterling TMS apply a singlefreight class to all shipments that are rated using your LTL contractsection.
When you add the LTL section define the following fields:
- Set Rate Class By to SectionFAK.
- Set FAK Class to the freight class youwant to use for the shipments.
For example:
- Set Rate Class By to SectionFAK.
- Set the FAK Class for the section to 92.5.
- Submit a shipment that contains orders that are all Freight Class65.
- Sterling TMS usesone of the lanes in this section to rate the shipment.
- Sterling TMS sendsFreight Class 92.5 to SMC to calculate the shipment charge. Sterling TMS ignores theFreight Class 65 that was submitted in the orders.
When you set Rate Class By to SectionFAK Sterling TMS usesthe weight from each order to calculate the rate. If no weight isspecified for each order Sterling TMS uses the totalweight of the LTL shipment to calculate the rate.
