IBM Support

scratch filesystem on IIAS and Db2wh

Education

Abstract

Scratch is where files go when you upload them for loading. It's also what populates the list of files available when you load files from servers. Scratch exists in the same clusterfs that you used when you deployed the containers.

Most of the growth in the directory is due to archive logs and every once in a while I have to remove them. Obviously in production they can be moved somewhere safe. They're in a different directory tree but on the same filesystem.
Moreover, IBM Support may use some spaces in these directories during investigation/collecting logs.

location for IIAS: /opt/ibm/appliance/storage/scratch
