SCM command execution throws a "...locked by other process" error, even though LSCM command execution does not give any error messages

Troubleshooting


Problem

When the IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) SCM command line tool is executed, a "... locked by other process" the error message is thrown, but, when the LSCM command line tool is executed, no error message appears.

Symptom

The following are the steps to reproduce this issue:

  1. Type lscm status --wide into the command line in the workspace directory and press Enter. You will see the workspace details, as expected.

  2. Type scm status --wide into the command line int he workspace directory and press Enter. The following error will appear:


Could not initialize data area:
Could not lock C:\XXX - locked by other process.
