Answer

Symptoms:
I am getting "Errors while processing the file: Could not initialize Metadata" while uploading the IdP Metadata file.

Cause:
The IdP Metadata XML file is corrupt.

Resolution:
Inform the IdP Team, to re-export the MetaData XML file. The easiest way to identify if the file is in correct format is to open the file in Internet Explorer or any compatible browser. If you can't open the file in Browser, the root cause is the file is corrupt or Mal-formed.
