Troubleshooting


Problem

This technote identifies a possible resolution to the error, Runtime Error: Object has been deleted, RqWordServices.DocWrapper,921,5825, which might occur when importing a document that contains unrecognized bookmarks into IBM® Rational® RequisitePro®.

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

Runtime Error: Object has been deleted. (RqWordServices.DocWrapper,921,5825)
 This Unexpected event was recorded in the log file:
 C:\Program Files\Rational\RequisitePro\bin\ERROR.LOG  

Cause

This error occurs when RequisitePro and Microsoft® Word do not recognize that there are bookmark(s) in the document.

Resolving The Problem



To resolve this issue, perform the following:

  1. Open the document
  2. Go to Insert > Bookmarks…
  3. Delete the bookmarks in the document
  4. Select Close
  5. Open the RequisitePro Project
  6. Import the document into a RequisitePro Project

If deleting all of the bookmarks is not possible perform the following:

  1. Open the document
  2. Access File > Save As
  3. Change the file type to Rich Text Format (*.rtf) and Save a copy of the document as *.rft
  4. Open the *.rft document
  5. Go to Insert > Bookmarks…
  6. Delete the bookmarks in the document
  7. Select Close
  8. Change the file type to Word Document (*.doc) and Save a copy of the document as *.doc
  9. Close the document
  10. Open the RequisitePro Project
  11. Import the document into a RequisitePro Project
