Running TM1 10.1 executable files on UNIX requires the TM1 bin64 location set in the appropriate environment variable

Product Documentation

Abstract

If you are manually running IBM® Cognos® TM1® 10.1 executable files on Solaris or Linux, add the TM1 <install directory>/bin64 path to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. When running TM1 on the IBM AIX platform, add this path to the LIBPATH environment variable. Some TM1 10.1 executable files, such as tm1s.exe and tm1svrstop.exe, have scripts that handle this for you, but others do not. This is a change in behavior from previous TM1 releases.

Content

This requirement applies to a number of TM1 executable files on UNIX, including the following:

  • odbc_test.exe
  • tm1admstat.exe
  • tm1runti.exe
  • tm1s.exe
  • tm1admsrv.exe
  • tm1srvstop.exe
  • exe files that support logging
If this path is not set in the environment variable, you might see the following error displayed when running TM1 executable files:
ld.so.1: tm1s.exe: fatal: libssl.so.0.9.8: open failed: No such file or directory

In order to run these exe files, set the environment variable as follows:

For Solaris and Linux:
Add the <install directory>/bin64 path to the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable.

For AIX:
Add the <install directory>/bin64 path to the LIBPATH environment variable.
