Running a report with a stored procedure results in a UDA-SQL-0107 error

Troubleshooting


Problem

A report containing a stored procedure which modifies a database (insert/delete/update) throws the following error: UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during operation "execute"

Symptom

The following errors are thrown when running a report with a stored procedure that updates a database:

RQP-DEF-0177 An error occurred while performing operation 'sqlOpenResult' status='-28'
UDA-SQL-0114 The cursor applied to the operation "sqlOpenResult" is inactive.
UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during operation "execute".

If Oracle is being used, the following error will be present:
ORA-01456: may not perform insert/delete/update operation inside a READ ONLY transaction
