Problem
When you run a query with date-based filters which was created in IBM Rational ClearQuest 7.0.x or older in a Rational ClearQuest 7.1.x client, the resulting data set may be incorrect.
Symptom
If a saved query with a date/time filter was originally created in Rational ClearQuest clients earlier than 7.1.x, it may return a result set which is not the filter suggests when executed in a Rational ClearQuest 7.1.x client.
Note: The query does return a result set without any errors. You will only notice the problem when you compare the results with the intended filter value.
This issue does not affect the Rational ClearQuest Eclipse or Web client applications.
Cause
In versions of Rational ClearQuest earlier than 7.1.0, queries that contain date/time filters were stored in incorrect formats that generate incorrect result sets in newer clients.
This issue was identified as a product defect and logged under APAR PM26394.
Resolving The Problem
You can fix date-based queries with incorrect formats by editing the date/time filter portion of the query in a 7.1.0 or newer version of the Rational ClearQuest Eclipse or web client application.
Note: If you are running a version of the Rational ClearQuest for Windows Client application earlier than 7.1.1.5 or 7.1.2, do not use this procedure. See technote 1497071 about another issue related to date-based queries saved by the Rational ClearQuest for Windows Client.
7.1.0 or newer Instructions:
- In a 7.1.0 or newer version of the Rational ClearQuest Client application, edit the query that is producing incorrect result sets.
- Click on the date/time filter to update the format of the date/time filter. You do not need to change anything. Clicking the date/time filter is sufficient to flag the query as changed.
- Save the query to update the date/time portion of the query with the correct format.
- Run the query to verify that it produces correct results.
