Problem
Running OpenPages on multiple tabs of the same browser is not supported since the session is shared across the tabs.
Users can experience unexpected behaviour such as sessions timing out prematurely or outdated information being displayed on one tab as opposed to another tab.
Users can experience unexpected behaviour such as sessions timing out prematurely or outdated information being displayed on one tab as opposed to another tab.
When opening links to OpenPages from an email, this will always open a new tab on your browser instead of reusing an existing tab that has OpenPages loaded. This can lead to unexpected session timeouts, so it is recommended to close any tabs running OpenPages first to close the session before clicking on the links. Unfortunately, there is no way to make this work since this would require Javascript coding on the email, which is not possible due to technological and security restrictions.
If using Chrome as the browser, one workaround is to enable multiple persons on the same browser so you can open additional sessions on the same browser using different persons.
Eg.
1. On Chrome, click the Current User icon on the top right corner and select "Manage people"
2. Click the Add Person button
3. Enter the information of the new person

4. Now when you want to open another session, you can click the Current User icon and select the new person to bring up a new browser session
