Problem

Attempts to launch an IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) Eclipse Client mounted to a NAS hosting Eclipse reports error "No Java virtual machine was found after searching the following locations: " Example path: /my_rtc/jazz404/jazz/client/eclipse/jdk/jre/bin/java.

Symptom

Error seen at Eclipse client start.


The full error message is as follows:

A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK)
must be available in order to run Eclipse. No Java virtual machine
was found after searching the following locations:
/my_rtc/jazz404/jazz/client/eclipse/jdk/jre/bin/java
