Troubleshooting
Problem
This document explains how to restore passwords with a single user profile.
Resolving The Problem
After doing a RSTUSRPRF for individual user profiles, the passwords for those profiles were set to *NONE.
At V5R1 and later, if you are restoring a single user profile and want the password restored, use the RSTUSRPRF SECDTA(*PWDGRP) command to restore the profile and password. For example:
RSTUSRPRF DEV(TAPXX) USRPRF(USRPRF) SECDTA(*PWDGRP) - Replace TAPXX with the restore device being used and USRPRF with the name of the user profile being restored.
For additional information, refer to Chapter 9 in the Recovering your system manual.
