Abstract
IBM Content Navigator 3.0 can not burn-in role-based redaction annotations to a PDF file that was created by using the Apache PDFBox library.
Content
IBM Content Navigator 3.0 includes support for burning in role-based redaction annotations. When these annotations are burned into a PDF file, the burn-in step fails if the file was created by using the Apache PDFBox library. For example, a file that was created by using the Apache PDFBox library to merge or split existing PDF files. No error is displayed when the redaction annotations are not burned in, and the redacted content is visible.
The redaction annotations can be burned in by configuring IBM Content Navigator to convert the PDF file to a TIFF file. The resulting TIFF file is returned to the client with the redactions burned in.
To enable returning a PDF file with burned in redactions as a TIFF file:
- Open the IBM Content Navigator repository configuration for your repository and log in to the repository as an administrator.
- Select the Configuration Parameters tab.
- Scroll down to the Role-based redactions: section (should be enabled if you are using role-based redactions)
- Change the Redacted PDF files will be delivered as: setting from PDF files (the default) to TIFF files.
- Save the repository configuration.
