IBM Support

Robot support for an application developed with TCL/TK

Question & Answer

Question

Does IBM® Rational® Robot support an application developed with TCL/TK?

Answer

TCL (Tool Command Language) has been widely used as a scripting language. In most cases, TCL is used in combination with the TK ("Tool Kit") library, a set of commands and procedures that make it relatively easy to program graphical user interfaces in TCL.

TCL/TK is a cross-platform development environment, which uses painted controls. Robot cannot directly test this application.

As a workaround, use the keyboard to navigate the application, and then use the Window Existence, Window Image and Clipboard verification points to test it.
