Problem
IBM Rational integration Tester (RIT) fails to connect to GitHub when using HTTPS with a valid login and password
Symptom
You configure Window > Preferences > Git > Git Credentials correctly, but when working with a project that is synchronized with GitHub, the connection fails.
The Git connection status is grey and you see the following error message:

No errors are shown in the JVM console.
