RFT Error: "Script has compilation error and cannot be started" when executing a script

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to execute a IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) script by importing to a new project leads to error "Script has compilation error and cannot be started.

Symptom

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Right Click on a RFT script from Test Navigator included in a package ( for example, Project Name>NewFolder1) and export it.


  2. Create new Functional Test project and create a new package name ( for example, Newfolder1)

    Note: the package name is same as in Step1, but the name has a lower case 'f'
  3. Import the exported script from Step 1.


  4. Playback the script and RFT would throw the below error message.

    The full error message is as follows:


    "Script <ScriptName> has compilation error and cannot be started"
