Retrieve device serial number through barcode

Abstract

MaaS360 adds a barcode to the MaaS360 Support container, allowing users to retrieve the device serial number by scanning that barcode.

Content

Prerequisite: Administrators must use the advanced configuration flag to enable barcode in the Support container.

Steps:

  1. Go to Security > Policies and then open a persona policy.
  2. Navigate to WorkPlace > Security > Configure Other Settings > Advanced Configuration Details.
  3. Add the following key and values:

EnableBarCodeForDeviceSerialNumber Yes

When the policies reach the device, the barcode is displayed in the Support container.

Barcode scan

Users can scan the barcode to retrieve the device serial number.
