"Request Timeout" value truncated to 1800000 ms from RPT for a SAP script

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to enter a value greater than 30 minutes (1800000 ms) for "Request Timeout" field from IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT) for a SAP script gets truncated to 30 minutes.

Symptom

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the SAP test.

2. Navigate to Server Request transaction.

3. Look for 'Request timeout' section and edit as follows:

Try enter 3000000 (3 and six zero's) in the field, but while clicking Save button , it gets truncated to only 300000 (3 and five zero's). Further try to test the max value we can set, it takes 999999999 (9 digits max) and when you save it gets truncated to 999999 (6 digits).
