IBM Support

Replication not supported on DB2 Express-C

Question & Answer

Question

Does replication work with DB2 Express-C?

Answer

Unlike DB2 Express-C Version 9.5, DB2 Express-C Version 9.7 no longer includes
the Replication Center or ASNCLP command-line program and does not support replication.

If the Replication Center is started from any of the DB2 administration tools such as the Control Center or Configuration Assistant, it will hang.

However, DB2 Express-C V9.7 can be upgraded for a small fee to include SQL replication.
The link to do this is found at http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/db2/9/edition-express.html

To use Q Replication with DB2 Express-C, you must purchase Infosphere Replication Server.

For more information about DB2 Express-C, read "Getting Started with DB2 Express-C" at
