Replacement processor requires latest BIOS - Netfinity 3500

Problem

The IBM Netfinity 3500 must be at the latest BIOS level if you are replacing the 333MHz processor. The replacement processor (Pentium III 500MHz 512KB Upgrade, replacement part number (FRU) 00N3879) requires BIOS version 35 or higher.

Symptom

The IBM Netfinity 3500 must be at the latest BIOS level if you are replacing the 333MHz processor. The replacement processor (Pentium III 500MHz 512KB Upgrade, replacement part number (FRU) 00N3879) requires BIOS version 35 or higher.  

Affected configurations

The system is an IBM Netfinity 3500 server, type 8644, any model.
 
The system is configured with the following processor:

  • Netfinity 333MHz Pentium II Processor, Option part number 01K8025, replacement part number (FRU) 01K4327
Solution

Download and apply the latest IBM Netfinity 3500 BIOS Flash Update Diskette.
