Feature being removed
The Graphical Process Modeler (GPM) is a Windows-only, browser-based tool used for creating business processes. In IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, users could download a Java Network Launch Protocol (JNLP) file from the dashboard to access GPM. Service definitions created using GPM could be checked in or out directly in Sterling B2B Integrator, making it easier to manage business processes.
Replacement for GPM
The Graphical Process Modeler (GPM) will be replaced with a modernized solution for authoring business processes. This new tool is intended to provide enhanced features and improved usability for users designing business processes. Details regarding the replacement tool will be shared in due course.
Reason for removal
The Graphical Process Modeler (GPM) relies on third-party libraries that have reached end of support (EOS) status. These libraries are no longer maintained, which means that no further updates can be performed on these libraries. This limitation has led to the decision to remove the GPM feature from Sterling B2B Integrator.
Impact assessment
Users and developers who depend on the GPM for creating business process definitions will no longer be able to use it for authoring business processes. However, business processes developed with earlier versions of Sterling B2B Integrator will continue to work. Also, note that the GPM package and JNLP file are no longer available for download from the Sterling B2B Integrator dashboard. Additionally, JNLP files from earlier versions are incompatible with version 6.2.2.0.
Alternative solution
- Refer to the sample business process definitions available in the Sterling B2B Integrator documentation or within Business Process Manager.
- Use a previous version of Sterling B2B Integrator and its corresponding GPM package to develop the business process.
