Registering multiple cdCms servers in the docCmsServlet

Troubleshooting

Problem

Registering multiple cdCms servers in the docCmsServlet

Resolving The Problem

You must register the cdCms servers in the docCmsServlet.ini, if you want to run multiple cdCms servers:

  • On one server running Document Connect for Lotus Domino Servers.
  • With one or more cdCms on more than one server, controlled by one cdCmsServlet to balance the workload among them.

To register multiple cdCms servers, you must set the following parameters:
  • NumberOfCmsServers
Specify the number of cdCms servers you want to manage with this cdCmsServlet.
  • [Settings for Cms Server n]
Add a new section for each cdCms server n (where n >= 0), such as [Settings for Cms Server 1].
  • cdCmsInetAddress_n
If the cdCms server is running on the same machine as the cdCmsServlet, you must set this parameter to 127.0.0.1. If the cdCms server runs on a different server, you must set this parameter to the IP address of this server.
  • cdCmsPort_n
Each cdCms server needs a unique and unused communication port. It is recommended that you use port numbers starting with number 60000 (such as: 60001, 60002, or 60003).
  • cdCmsLoadInPercent_n
Define the workload of this server in relation to the overall workload of all registered cdCms servers.

The sum of the workload settings for all registered cdCms servers must be 100.
