Troubleshooting
Problem
Unable to refresh Jira schema.
Symptom
Error: "HTTP 500: Internal server error Plug-in: com.tasktop.artifacts.bridge" is presented when trying to refresh the Jira Schema.
Cause
The needed queries are not shared to all logged on users and the queries are not favorites of the Jira user in Tasktop.
Environment
Jira: 7.6.6
Tasktop: 4.12.3v20171026-0446-RELEASE
Note: Officially JIRA 7.6 is only supported with Tasktop Sync 4.13.
But Jira 7.6.6 has no API changes.
Diagnosing The Problem
- Create a error report in Tasktop:
- To create the error report:
Click on the Sync icon and select Create Error Report in Tasktop.
Analyzing the report you should see that the Rational Lifecycle Integration Adapter is not able to read the saved queries in Jira. You need to determine the exact call which is failing and to do so you need to enable Tasktop tracing.
- To enable a trace:
1. Click on the Sync icon in the top toolbar and select Debugging Options → Trace
2. Reproduce the issue (as example try to create a favorite query for the JIRA repository)
3. Click on the Sync icon in the top toolbar and select Debugging Options → Debug
4. Click on the Sync icon in the top toolbar and select Create Error Report
From the above you should see the request which is failing with a HTTP 500 error:
Response: 500 on request GET https://<server>.com/rest/api/latest/filter/favourite
Resolving The Problem
- Share the queries to any logged in user.
- Add them as favorites of the JIRA user located in Tasktop.
