Troubleshooting
Problem
What is this recursive link to QOpenSys in my IBM i Integrated File System (IFS)?
Environment
IBM i OS
Resolving The Problem
In the IBM i Integrated File System, after installing the Portable Application Solution Environment (PASE, 57xxSS1 Option 33), there is a symbolic link for QOpenSys under the directory /QOpenSys. If this link is followed, you are returned to the same display time and time again. As you do this, the path seems to infinitely grow. The QOpenSys symbolic link under /QOpenSys is required by the PASE (57xxSS1 Option 33) LPP. A symbolic link is like a pointer and takes up no DASD on the system.
DO NOT remove or modify the symbolic link for QOpenSys under the /QOpenSys directory. Doing so will affect the functionality of the PASE (57xxSS1 Option 33) LPP and any products running in the PASE environment.
