Flashes (Alerts)

Abstract

This document describes the recommended and mandatory interim fixes for installing WebSphere Process Server V7.0.0.0.

Content

The following interim fixes that are marked as Mandatory must be installed; all of the other interim fixes are recommended.

Mandatory WebSphere Process Server interim fixes

WebSphere Process Server V7.0 interim fixes are installed using IBM Installation Manager. If you have internet access on the system where WebSphere Process Server is installed, you can find and install the interim fixes during installation of WebSphere Process Server by clicking the Check for Other Versions and Extensions button, or after installation by restarting IBM Installation Manager and clicking Update for the WebSphere Process Server installation.

If you do not have internet access on the system where WebSphere Process Server is installed, follow these steps to install the interim fixes:

  1. Download the fixes from the Fix Central links below.
  2. Extract the interim fix repositories and note the location where you placed them.
  3. Restart IBM Installation Manager and enter the repository locations from step 2 using the Files > Preferences menu.
  4. Click Update in Installation Manager to install the interim fixes.
  • JR35038: A PersistenceException exception is thrown when the messaging engine is configured while DB2 Universal Database is running. The Common Event Infrastructure (CEI) bus messaging engine does not start. Download from Fix Central for WebSphere Process Server or for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus.
  • JR35039: In a cross-module synchronous invocation using a Service Component Architecture (SCA) import binding, if the target service returns a ServiceBusinessException exception with fault data in the form of a data object, the fault data object does not deserialize properly in the client. WAR Med does not recognize the modeled fault response. Download from Fix Central for WebSphere Process Server or for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus.
  • JR35041: A NullPointerException exception is thrown during service deploy of an SCA module. This error can occur when a resource reference already exists in the containing enterprise archive (EAR) file containing an outbound adapter. Download from Fix Central for WebSphere Process Server or for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus.
  • JR35042: While retrieving the details of a module, the SCA Representational State Transfer (REST) API fails with a NullPointerException exception in the first-failure data capture (FFDC) logs, and the Module Browser widget displays no artifacts. Also, the Module Graphical View does not display the imports and exports of the module and are stuck in the loading state. Download from Fix Central for WebSphere Process Server or for WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus.

Mandatory fix for WebSphere Application Server on z/OS
  • AK99267-z/OS- ++APAR AK99267 for WebSphere Application Server for z/OS V7.0.0.7 contains critical fixes required for WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere ESB for z/OS V7.0. Download the ++APAR from here.

  • WebSphere Application Server interim fixes

WebSphere Application Server v7 interim fixes will continue to be installed via the IBM Update Installer for WebSphere Software. The Update Installer is included on the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment Supplemental CD or can be download and installed by following the instructions contained within the readme.txt for each fix.
    • Mandatory: PM01854: The managed server in WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment does not start (Linux platforms only)

    • Download Linux X64 from Fix Central
Download Linux X32 from Fix Central
Download Linux S39064 from Fix Central
Download Linux S390 from Fix Central
Download Linux PPC64 from Fix Central
Download Linux PPC32 from Fix Central
Download Linux IA64 from Fix Central
Download Linux AMD64 from Fix Central
    • PM02219: Clear text password is displayed in the configCei.and.wsadminCmd.log file.

    • Download from Fix Central
    • PM02308: LP cannot be started after updating an application.

    • Download from Fix Central
    • PM02588: Access is denied in bpcclientcore.jar when using Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Java EE.

    • Download from Fix Central
NOTE: PM02588 also has a prerequisite of the following interim fix:
      • PK95991: With session security and auditing enabled, an exception occurs during a formlogout when trying to acquire the session id.

      • Download from Fix Central
    • PM01518:JDBC providers are created incorrectly for event and event_catalog.

    • Download from Fix Central
    • PM02961: The com.ibm.ws.security.*=all setting prevents applications from working.

    • Download from Fix Central

    DB2 fixes
    • IC64727: This problem is not specific to Business Process Choreographer or WebSphere Process Server; the problem might also occur in a WebSphere Application Server application. In IBM Data Server Driver for JDBC and SQLJ driver version 3.53.95 (bundled with DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows V9.5 Fix Pack 4) and later, a java.security.AccessControlException exception can occur when loading the JDBC driver. The error occurs when the application uses the Java SecurityManager and does not allow reflection privileges to the application. Examples for loading a JDBC driver include accessing a data source through javax.naming.InitialContext.lookup() from a JavaServer Pages (JSP) page or from a Java snippet in a Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) process when Java EE security is enabled. See https://www-01.ibm.com/support/entdocview.wss?uid=swg1IC64727
    • PK41236: The CEI does not get the correct schema name in DB2 for z/OS. See http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PK41236.
    • PK89820: DB2 on Z/OS returns x'F3' for RLSCONV to some client
and results in -30020 due to not supporting.
      See http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1PK89820
