Resolving The Problem
This document provides a circumvention for messages CPFBC10 and OPT1797 when using a virtual optical device.
Attempting to vary on or use a virtual optical device is receiving the following messages:
CPFBC10 - Image catalog &1 not loaded to device &2 followed by:
OPT1797 - System is not enabled for this function
These errors are caused by a problem with the Product Access Code. The product access code is carried with the device, not just with the product. In order for the virtual optical library to know the new product access code, any one of the drives within the optical library must be varied off and then varied back on. The product access code is then loaded into the drive. A new product access key must be acquired from Lab services if the IBM i system serial number changes.

There are three commands that can generate the OPT1797 error message without a product access code installed:

OPT1797 can be generated if the Digital Certificate Manager (DCM) product is not installed on the system.
Note: Once the DCM product is installed, an IPL is required to continue processing.
