IBM Support

Receiving Error 53-cannot find .SBL file, when executing a GUI script.

Troubleshooting

Problem

The library SBL files needs to be compiled in order to access them at runtime.

Cause

GUI script has been compiled within IBM Rational(R) Robot IDE. But, when user attempts execute it, the error 53 occurred. Script has a call to a library function, which user prior to execute the script modified but hasn’t compiled the library file.
This error occurred because only the GUI script automatically compiles when executing the script. So, the library files needs to be compiled in order to access them at runtime.

Resolving The Problem

The fastest way to compile is to open library file and click the Compile button on the Robot toolbar or choose File>Compile All if you need to compile all files.
You can compile SBL file even if the .sbl file is not in the SQABasic path.
