What are some common things you need to know about installing and uninstalling MacOS endpoint agents?


System Requirements for ReaQta Hive Agent on MacOS:

Operating System: Sierra+
Processor: Intel
Hard disk space: 90 MB
Memory usage: 60 MB
Network bandwidth: 10 Mb+

How to install ReaQta Hive Agent on MacOS?

  1. Download the Hive agent distribution package for MacOS from Hive server UI:
    1. Log in to the Hive Server UI.
    2. Click Administration Tab > Update Manager.
    3. Click the Hive Package for MacOS, which opens up the Agent Distribution Details tab. Then, click the Installer Download tab.
    4. Click the Download, which downloads a .pkg file.
  2. Run the ReaQta Hive agent package with elevated rights and follow the instructions.

    3. Provide the Hive Backend URL(Server URL) with port: 4443. 
    4. Enter the tenant details (GIDs). You can find your GIDs in the email with the Access Details you received from the ReaQta team. You can also find the GIDs by selecting the target group from the drop-down in the parameters section.
      Note: Providing GIDs is optional and only required for MSSP Hive.
    5. After the successful completion of installation, the endpoint is listed in the Endpoints tab of Hive server home page .

How to uninstall ReaQta Hive Agent on MacOS?

There are two methods to uninstall the Hive agent. You can select any according to your convenience.
Method 1: Uninstall from Hive Server UI
  1. In the ReaQta Hive server UI, go to the Endpoint tab. Click the target endpoint where you want to uninstall the agent.
  2. Click the View Endpoint at the lower right corner.
  3. Click uninstall.
  4. Verify the /Library/ReaQta-Hive directory is removed. If not, then proceed with steps in method 2.
Note: Uninstall from Hive server UI is not successful if agent is not communicating with the server.
Method 2: Uninstall from Mac
  1. Open the terminal and go to the following directory: /Library/ReaQta-Hive
  2. Run the script "" with root privilege.
  3. Exit from the directory.
  4. Verify the /Library/ReaQta-Hive directory is removed.

If there is any issues during installation, what information do you need to provide to the support?

  1. Specify the Endpoint name and link to the Dashboard.
  2. Specify the MacOS version, Hive Server version, and Agent distribution version.
  3. Open and filter by "keeperi" as below and send the logs to the support.
