Rational RequisitePro dynamic user creation using LDAP authentication

Abstract

This feature allows a user in the IBM® Rational® RequisitePro® client for Windows to log on to a configured project even if the user was not included previously in the project. This is possible through a capability that enables the automatic creation of users through LDAP authentication.

Content

In order to enable this feature, the following conditions must be met:

Project

  • The project must be configured to support LDAP authentication.
  • The project must be configured to allow dynamic user creation using LDAP authentication.

User
  • The user must exist on the LDAP server.
  • The user does not exist in the project.

Configuring a project to enable dynamic user creation using LDAP authentication:
  • The project administrator creates a user group with the name RqDynUserCreation.
  • The project administrator has the flexibility to define the permission level of this group.

After that user group RqDynUserCreation is set, all users who are created using the dynamic user creation feature will be added to this group.

Disabling dynamic user creation using LDAP authentication for a project.
  • The project administrator renames or removes the user group RqDynUserCreation.

Disabling dynamic user creation using LDAP authentication for an specific user on a project.
  • The project administrator deletes the user. The user will be stored in <Deleted users> group.
  • A member of <Deleted users> group cannot use the dynamic user creation feature to access the project.
