This document describes how to download and install fix pack 8.1.0.2 for IBM® Rational® Performance Tester (RPT), Version 8.1 on Microsoft® Windows® and Linux® operating systems.

Prerequisites

Before you can install this fix pack, you must update your Installation Manager to version 1.3.1. Whenever you use Installation Manager to update an installed package, it automatically updates itself if necessary.

Installation Instructions

IBM Rational Performance Tester, Version 8.1 must already be installed on your system.
Automatic Update Install the RPT 8.1.0.2 update using the Update wizard in the IBM Installation Manager.

  1. Start the IBM Installation Manager.
  2. Click Update.
Manual Update It is also possible to download the update and install it locally.
  1. Download the RPT 8.1.0.2 update ZIP files. Refer to the Download Package table below for the URLs.
  2. Extract the files to a temporary directory with a directory structure resembling:
    • rpt_update\disk1
    • rpt_update\disk2
    The base directories must be named disk1, disk2, etc.
  3. Start the IBM Installation Manager.
  4. Click File > Preferences
  5. Click Add Repository.
  6. Enter the directory where disk1 resides, according to the following example: ...\rpt_update\disk1\diskTag.inf
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
  10. From the main Installation Manager window, click Update.
