This document describes how to download and install fix pack 8.1.1.1 for IBM Rational Performance Tester (RPT), Version 8.1 on Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems.

Prerequisites

Before you can install this fix pack, you must update your Installation Manager to version 1.3.1. Whenever you use Installation Manager to update an installed package, it automatically updates itself if necessary.

Installation Instructions

IBM Rational Performance Tester, Version 8.1 must already be installed on your system.
Automatic Update Install the RPT 8.1.1.1 update using the Update wizard in IBM Installation Manager.

  1. Start the IBM Installation Manager.
  2. Click Update.
Manual Update You can also download the update and install it locally.
  1. Download the RPT 8.1.1.1 update .zip files. Refer to the Download Package table later for the URLs.
  2. Extract the files to a temporary directory with a directory structure resembling this example:
    • rpt_update\disk1
    • rpt_update\disk2
    The base directories must be named disk1, disk2, and so on.
  3. Start IBM Installation Manager.
  4. Click File > Preferences
  5. Click Add Repository.
  6. Enter the directory where disk1 is located, according to the following example: ...\rpt_update\disk1\diskTag.inf
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
  10. From the main Installation Manager window, click Update.
