  1. Log in to the machine where Rational Change is installed as the user who installed Rational Change.

  2. Unzip (Windows) or untar (UNIX) the patch file into <CHANGE_APP_HOME>/WEB-INF/packages. The resultant directory will have the name rc<patch version>.

    For example, on UNIX:
    $ cd <CHANGE_APP_HOME>/WEB-INF/packages
    $ tar xvf <file path>

  3. Install the Fix pack
  • Login to Rational Change as Admin, and click the System Administration link in the action panel.
  • Click on the Package Installer tab, select this fixpack from the Available Packages listbox, and click the Install button.
  • Add below tags to "WEB-INF\web.xml" just before the commented line "<!-- The encoding filter needs to be first to correctly commit the"

4. After the patch installation is successful, stop and re-start Rational Change.

6. Installing changehelp.war
  • Stop the Help server.
  • Take the backup of existing changehelp.war file.
  • Replace the changehelp.war with the one provided with the fix pack.
7. Uninstall the Fix Pack:
If it is necessary to remove the fix pack after it was installed, follow these steps.
  • Login to Rational Change as Admin, and click the System Administration link in the action panel.
  • Uninstall the Fix pack.
    Click on the Package Installer tab, select the fix pack from the Installed Packages listbox, and click the Uninstall button.
  • Delete below tags from "WEB-INF\web.xml" just before the commented line "<!-- The encoding filter needs to be first to correctly commit the"
  • <filter>
  • Stop and start Rational Change.
8. Uninstalling the changehelp.war
  • Stop the Help server.
  • Replace the changehelp.war with the back up version of war file (see point #2 of "Installing changehelp.war" section)
  • Start the Help server.

<p><strong>Regression:</strong> An error in the <a href="" TARGET="_blank">Maintenance Delivery Vehicle</a> (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.

<ul><li>Coding errors that cause a regression</li>
<li>Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression</li>
<li>Errors reported in a new function delivered in a MDV that cause a regression</li></ul></p>
<p><strong>Incomplete:</strong> An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
<br>This includes:
<ul><li>Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new</li>
<li>APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression</li></ul></p>
<ul><li>Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error</li>
