IBM Rational Agent Controller, Version 8.3.4
Download Description
IBM Rational Agent Controller is a daemon that allows client applications to launch and manage local or remote applications and provides information about running applications to other applications. You must install Rational Agent Controller separately in the target machine before you can use the following tools:
- Profiling tools to profile your applications.
- Component testing tool to run test cases.
- Tools for remote profiling or enabling Java code coverage statistic collection on the following versions of WebSphere Application Server :
- Version 8.0 (Java 1.6 applications).
- Version 7.0 (Java 1.6 applications)
- Version 6.1 (Java 1.5 applications)
- Version 6.0 (Java 1.4 applications)
Note on WebSphere Application Server v6.0 support:
Profiling is only supported for Windows and Linux operating systems. For profiling on WebSphere Application Server version 6.0 with other supported operating systems, use Rational Agent Controller version 7.x.

Prerequisites
For Windows, Linux, AIX and Solaris:
The following version Installation Manager is required:
- Version 1.4.4 or later.
If you have an earlier version of Installation Manager installed on your computer, then by default it will be updated to the latest available version when you attempt to use it to install or update software
For Windows and Linux only:
Rational Agent Controller 8.3.4 is supported on the same operating system versions as Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software, v8.0.x. For details, see http://www-01.ibm.com/software/awdtools/developer/application/sysreq/index.html.
Agent Controller 8.3.4 is also supported on the following platforms:

Installation Instructions
Important (For Window, Linux, AIX and Solaris): By default, you do not need to download the compressed files listed in the table below. Using IBM Installation Manager, you can install or the update this version of Rational Agent Controller directly from the IBM repository.
For instructions on installing or updating to this version, see the Installation Instructions.
If you are installing or updating from the compressed files:
- Download the update files for your operating system from the table below.
- Extract the compressed files in an appropriate directory. For example, choose to extract to C:\temp\updates .
- Add the repository location in IBM Installation Manager:
- Start IBM Installation Manager.
- On the Start page of Installation Manager, click File > Preferences, and then click Repositories. The Repositories page opens.
- On the Repositories page, click Add Repository.
- In the Add repository window, browse to or enter the file path to the diskTag.inf file, which is located in the RAC_<platform>\disk1 sub-directory in the directory where you extracted the compressed files and then click OK. For example, enter C:\temp\updates\RAC_Win\disk1disk1\diskTag.inf.
- Click OK to close the Preference page.
- Follow the Installation Instructions.

Download Package
- Click the link to Fix Central.
- Under refresh pack: 8.0.4.0-Rational-RAD-groupfixpack (IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software Version 8.0.4), click Show contained fixes.
- Select fix pack: 8.3.4.0-Rational-RAC-fixzippack.and the click Continue.
- Note: If your download option is set to Download Director, then if you click Download Now you will download installation files for all platforms Rational Agent Controller.
- Change your download method to FTP or HTTP:
- Click Change download options.
- Select either Download using your browser (HTTP) or Download using bulk FTP and then click Continue.
- Click the Agent Controller update for your platform to download it. The files are:
