Rating Method Overview
Rating methods let you define how Sterling TMS calculatesyour transportation charges. For example you might want to calculatethe charges based on distance weight or a flat rate.
You select a rating method when you define the following information:
- Contract sections and lanes
- Accessorials
- Break schedules (they are called break attributes)
Sterling TMS supports the following rating methods:
- All Stops
- Average Fuel Rate Rating Method
- Carrier Revenue Rating Method
- Deadhead Distance Rating Method
- Delivery Stops
- Final Stop
- First Stop
- Flat Rating Method
- Flat Per Fleet Rating Method
- Flat Per SID Rating Method
- Flat Per Truck
- Full Route Distance
- Full Route Return to Origin Distance
- Intermediate Stop
- Lane Distance
- Linehaul Charge
- Loaded Route Distance
- Out-of-Route Distance
- Out-of-Route Distance From Specified
- Package Type
- Pickup Stops
- Pro-Rated Distance
- Shipment Duration
- Shipment Leg
- Specified Distance
- Specified Full Route
- Total Charge
- Volume
- Wait Time
- Weight
Note: Some rating methods are only used for contract sections andlanes. These rating methods are not supported for accessorials orbreak schedules.
