Problem
When a QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) link error occurs during Power-On Self-Test (POST), it is not reported by the system. This is a permanent limitation for the affected systems.

Symptom
When a QuickPath Interconnect (QPI) link error occurs during Power-On Self-Test (POST), it is not reported by the system.
This is a permanent limitation for the affected systems.
Affected configurations
The system can be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3750 M4, type 8718, any model
- System x3750 M4, type 8722, any model
- System x3750 M4, type 8733, any model
- System x3750 M4, type 8752, any model
This tip is not software specific.
This tip is not option specific.
The following system BIOS/uEFI levels are affected:
UEFI Build ID: any UEFI build for the affected systems.
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This is a permanent limitation for the affected systems.
Workaround
The error will be handled when the operating system is started. The active operating system and system will report S.680B8. Refer to the Problem Determination and Service Guide (PDSG) S.680B8 for the recommended service action.
Additional information
The Problem Determination and Service Guide will provide the necessary actions to perform when this error occurs.
