Multichannel - Tracking Offline Data
Key Details:
- Included as part of the Multichannel Import Bundle which includes 3 solutions: Data Extenstions Visitor Registration Fields and Multichannel.
- Multichannel Import Solution provides a way to import and report on offline data allowing insight into the performance of the business as a whole (aggregated data) or individual metric values for online sales and offline sales.
- Templates available for ?Product? level (MCS) and ?Order? Level (MCO) data imports
- Multichannel Shop (MCS): Import file which contains data at the product/Item level and this is analogous to what is passed in the Shop Action 9 Tag.
- Multichannel Order (MCO): Import file which contains data at the Order level and this is analogous to data collected in the Order Tag.
Business Use Case: I would like to see how my business is performing as a whole. I would like to create reports combining Online and Offline data in a single report in order to identify whether my online sales are exceeding the physical store sales.
Configuration of the Multichannel Import data involves:
- Configuration of settings: Including setting SFTP details
- Creating the template: Selecting the delimiter (comma tab or pipe)
- Populating template & Uploading: Downloading the newly created template (Zip file containing both the MCO and MCS templates) and populating it with the offline data values before uploading via the Import tool
- The? MCS file is compulsory while the MCO file is optional.
Imported data will be processed overnight and available for reporting within Explore the next day.
o?? ?Aliasing: An administrator will only need to apply an alias (meaningful name) if Offline Attributes have been sent within either of the MCS or MCO files. (maximum of 50 offline attributes)
o?? ?Explore Reporting: Select display columns appropriate to the data you would like to view along with ?Online? metrics ?Offline? metrics and ?Multichannel? metrics (aggregate of both online and offline).?
Interpretation & Business Value:
Enabling a business to view data for its various selling channels (Online offline call centers etc.) in one reporting interface allows them to assess their performance as a whole and plan for improvements assign marketing spend and determine stock demand/availability across the various dimensions of the business.
